Shortly After Declaring Himself Ngelale’s Replacement, Presidency Clarifies Roles of Bwala, Dare, Onanuga as Tinubu’s Spokespersons
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has restructured his media and communications team, appointing three officials to collectively serve as the administration’s spokespersons. The announcement, made on Monday, designates Bayo Onanuga, Sunday Dare, and Daniel Bwala as Special Advisers with distinct but complementary roles in government communication.
The presidency issued a statement clarifying that there is no single spokesperson for Tinubu’s administration. Instead, the three appointees will work together to ensure consistent messaging on government policies, decisions, and engagements. The statement, released by Onanuga, highlights the goal of enhancing efficiency within the communications apparatus of the government.
Sunday Dare, previously named Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation, has been reassigned as Special Adviser for Media and Public Communications. Daniel Bwala, initially announced as Special Adviser for Media and Public Communication, will now serve as Special Adviser for Policy Communication. Onanuga retains his role as Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
“This restructuring underscores the administration’s commitment to an efficient and unified approach to communication,” the statement noted. “The three Special Advisers will jointly serve as spokespersons for the government, ensuring effective dissemination of information about the president’s agenda and engagements.”
