No right-thinking Nigerian will waste energy discussing Daniel Bwala — Aisha Yesufu
Human rights activist Aisha Yesufu has downplayed recent comments made by Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, saying she will not engage in what she described as distractions in public political exchanges.
Yesufu made the remarks during an interview on *Politics Today*, a programme on Channels Television, on Thursday. She was responding to comments by Bwala concerning former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi and his participation in party processes and primaries.
She said she would not give attention to Bwala’s statements, insisting that her focus remains on governance issues affecting Nigerians.
“There’s no right-thinking Nigerian that is going to waste their energy on discussing Daniel Bwala,” she said.
She added that she was not interested in personal exchanges involving political actors, stating that others could respond if they chose to.
“I heard when he was calling my name. I think I will leave him to Medi Hassan. That’s someone that knows how to deal with people like Daniel,” she said.
Yesufu emphasized that public attention should be directed toward governance priorities rather than political arguments between individuals.
“What we want is good governance, accountability and transparency, and a place where the lives of Nigerians would matter,” she said.
The exchange comes amid ongoing political debate involving figures aligned with the ruling and opposition parties, with continued commentary around party participation, leadership choices, and electoral strategy.
