Shocking Abuse Scandal Unveiled: Landlord Allegedly Scalds 11-Year-Old Girl with Boiling Water
A landlord known as Michael stands accused of pouring scalding hot water on an innocent 11-year-old girl identified only as Princess. The harrowing event unfolded last Saturday in the quiet town of Mowe, nestled within the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Startling revelations surrounding the incident have come to light, with witnesses painting a disturbing picture of ongoing abuse within the household. Ejiro, the sister of a tenant in the same house, disclosed that her sibling had been contemplating leaving their rented apartment out of fear of suffering a similar fate at the hands of the landlord.
Ejiro shared her concerns, stating, “My sister has said she is planning to pack out of the apartment because the landlord may descend on his tenants too one day, and she may be a victim.”
The escalating abuse reportedly began with physical beatings, but it took a horrifying turn when, this past Saturday, the landlord allegedly scalded Princess with boiling water. The details are nothing short of chilling, as Princess’ brother revealed that the incident occurred when they asked the landlord for help in preparing food. Inexplicably, the situation escalated into a nightmare as the landlord poured the searing water on the young girl.
Distressed and injured, Princess was rushed to the hospital, where concerned family members and authorities took note of her painful injuries. Her mother, Grace Ojile, expressed deep concern for her daughter’s well-being, revealing the extent of her injuries. “He poured hot water on her body. If you see the back, it’s all burnt. He inflicted injury on her head last week, I just heard that. I’m with her at the hospital,” she said with palpable anguish.
Photographs obtained by Punch correspondent show scars believed to be the result of the horrific hot water incident, further corroborating the shocking allegations.
As the community grapples with the distressing revelations, questions about the motive behind the landlord’s alleged abuse linger. Although details remain sparse, initial reports suggest that the man claimed Princess was mistreated because she refused to attend school. However, authorities and concerned residents argue that such brutality cannot be justified as a means of discipline.
Prompted by the gravity of the situation, a concerned resident reported the matter to the Mowe Police Station. The swift response of the local law enforcement authorities resulted in the immediate arrest and detention of the accused landlord. Mowe Divisional Police Officer, Afeniforo Folake, confirmed that the suspect is in custody and indicated that the case will be transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department, Eleweran, for a thorough investigation.
In the wake of this horrifying incident, the community awaits justice for Princess, and authorities are determined to uncover the truth behind this alarming case of alleged abuse.
