Shock in Delta as Man Allegedly Rapes, Kills Mother in Ughelli North
A tragic incident has left residents of Agbarho community in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, in shock after a young man, identified only as *Emem*, allegedly raped and killed his mother.
The disturbing event reportedly occurred on Thursday night at about 10:00 p.m. on Eferemor Street, near Ovie House.
According to community sources, the victim’s younger son, who had just returned home that day, discovered his mother’s lifeless body in a pool of blood. She was found naked, with evidence suggesting sexual assault before her death.
Witnesses allege that Emem, the prime suspect, fled the scene immediately after the incident. He was said to have shown signs of mental instability in the past. Residents also recounted that he had once stripped naked and attempted to lure his mother into a sexual act.
Police operatives have since evacuated the woman’s body to a morgue in Agbarho. However, the suspect remains at large as of the time of this report.
Efforts to reach the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, for official comments proved unsuccessful, as calls and messages were not answered.
