How My Sister Vanished After Meeting Hotel Guest – Brother

A Lagos family is grappling with the mysterious disappearance of 30-year-old Noimot Olawale, who vanished after reportedly meeting a hotel guest last month. Her elder brother, Ibrahim Olawale, spoke exclusively to The Punch about the harrowing search for his sister and the shocking discoveries that followed.

Noimot, a single mother of one, was last seen on Friday, 18th July, when she left her home in Maya, Ikorodu, with a colleague for work. According to Ibrahim, she told her friend she was stepping out briefly to visit someone in Ejigbo but never returned. Her absence was first noticed by neighbours the following day when her nine-year-old son was found alone at home. Attempts to reach her by phone were met with a confusing response from an unknown caller claiming she had been in an accident and taken to LASUTH hospital.

The family’s investigation led them to a hotel in Ladega, where Noimot worked in the bar section. Conflicting accounts from her friend and the hotel management about her whereabouts on the night of her disappearance raised immediate suspicion. “The explanations were conflicting and complicated,” Ibrahim said, prompting the family to involve the police.

Further investigation uncovered a chilling connection to a suspected ritualist, known locally as Alfa, who has been previously implicated in violent crimes. Ibrahim revealed that the Alfa’s phone number was traced through the hotel manager’s call logs. Evidence gathered at a suspected crime scene reportedly included dismembered remains, though it is not yet confirmed whether these belong to Noimot.

The family claims they have largely carried out tracking and investigative work themselves, spending over N1 million in the process. Despite filing reports at Sagamu Police Division and the State CID, Ibrahim says police response has been inadequate. “We are pleading with the authorities to thoroughly investigate this matter. The Alfa must be found so we can determine if the remains belong to our sister,” he said.

The hotel where Noimot was last seen continues to operate, raising concerns about accountability and safety in the area. Ibrahim and his family continue to appeal to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police and the public for urgent intervention in the case.
