SCOAN Breaks Silence in Response to BBC Documentary on TB Joshua

The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) has vehemently contested the recent BBC documentary on its late founder, Temitope Babatunde Joshua, also known as TB Joshua. In an official statement signed by the Public Affairs Director, Mr. Dare Adejumo, the church dismissed the documentary as baseless, emphasizing that the individuals featured in the report were unknown to SCOAN.

The church criticized BBC’s Africa Eye for deviating from journalistic ethics, accusing the investigative unit of producing a narrative filled with fictional elements and propaganda. SCOAN emphasized that true journalism requires fairness, balance, and objectivity, qualities it claimed were lacking in the documentary.

In response to the allegations of various crimes, including rape, against TB Joshua, SCOAN argued that the BBC failed to uphold fundamental principles of the profession. The church accused the broadcaster of compromising its integrity by relying on disgruntled and manipulated individuals, some of whom were allegedly unknown even within SCOAN.

SCOAN challenged the BBC’s credibility, stating, “Only BBC can best explain why it woefully deviated from true journalism and chose to be dishing junks and feeding the public with stones called bread by its offensive and disenchanted reports of disgruntled elements.”

The church highlighted the positive impact of TB Joshua’s ministry, citing numerous testimonies of miraculous healings and restored lives. It condemned the documentary as insulting to both professional and public intelligence, asserting that the BBC failed to acknowledge the positive contributions of the late founder.

Despite the controversy, SCOAN expressed confidence in the enduring legacy of TB Joshua, asserting that no amount of negative reporting could diminish his impact. The church concluded its response by condemning the documentary and appealing to God for forgiveness for its sponsors, emphasizing that persecution of divine envoys or servants of God is not a new phenomenon in history.
