Road Crash Claims Lives of Groom, Bride’s Sister Moments Before Wedding in Bauchi 

A wedding celebration in Bauchi State turned into a heartbreaking tragedy when the groom, Abba Musa, and the bride’s elder sister, Maryam Suleiman, lost their lives in a fatal accident just 30 minutes before the ceremony. The accident occurred in Boto, Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area, plunging the entire community into mourning.

Eyewitnesses reported that the victims were traveling from Murno, a village about five kilometers away from Boto, when the crash occurred. What was meant to be a joyous occasion quickly turned into one of sorrow, with family members and friends struggling to process the sudden loss.

Saminu Boto, the groom’s brother, confirmed the incident, describing the atmosphere in the community as one of profound grief. He noted that the bride’s family home, once filled with wedding preparations, had become a place of mourning. The late Abba Musa was remembered as a kind-hearted and ambitious young man who had been eagerly looking forward to building a future with his bride, Raihanatu Suleiman. Meanwhile, Maryam Suleiman was described as a supportive sister who had played a crucial role in organizing the wedding.

Residents of the community expressed their shock, calling the tragedy one of the saddest events in recent memory. The two victims were buried shortly after the accident in accordance with Islamic rites.

The bride, devastated by the loss of both her groom and sister on what should have been the happiest day of her life, remains inconsolable.
