The 5th of December, 2020 Bye-Elections for the Lagos East Senatorial District and Kosofe Constituency II House of Assembly seats contested for by Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi (BOG) and Hon Ademola Sikiru Alebiosu (ASA) respectively, have come,and gone, the results we all know.
This is however, not a time to blame each other but it is “Rejuvenation Time”.
It’s now a time to Rethink and Re-strategise.
All lessons have been learnt, mistakes have been made, this is however the time to move forward and project into the future.
To start with, we wish to appreciate all and sundry for their efforts during the Election.
We also express our heartfelt appreciation to the candidates for their efforts and enthusiasm, none of these have gone unnoticed.
We also express our sincere gratitude to all state Excos and members of the campaign council for participating in the Elections at little or no costs,all your contributions will not go unnoticed.
We also say a very big thank you to all our sponsors, leaders in the State and LGA’s.
We appreciate the valuable time and resources you all put into preparing the candidates for this election. All your efforts are well noted.
We also say thank you to the National Working Committee for their support and understanding during these trying times.
We state categorically, that important lessons have been learnt, mistakes have been made, but we promise to create a template, that will be water tight enough for us to make use of during the upcoming council elections.
We hereby wish to plead with the party at the National level and besiege them to continue to believe in the confidence and trust reposed in our abilities to steer the ship of the party at the state level.
The future is sincerely bright for the party in the state, if all hands are on deck.
We further plead that the party at the National level should continue to believe in the existing state structures of the party for future elections, so that the custodians of the party would have a sense of belonging.
At this juncture, we wish to use this opportunity to crave the indulgence of all leaders of the party in the state to fall back and integrate themselves back into polling units, zones, wards and LGA’s in their respective constituencies.
As earlier stated, this is a time to have a Rethink and Re-strategise for the future.
This is a time for us all to unite as a party as there is no gainsaying, that we cannot all be on the same page at all times, but we should all have one common goal, one common purpose, one common target and that should be the huge desire to win any Elections that comes our way.
It is also pertinent at this point to make sure that our strategies for the future include our Youths at all levels.
Finally, we call on all party faithfuls, to remain calm and resolute, we have identified most of our mistakes and we are looking into them with a view of creating a change that will add to the progress of our dear party.
We pray that the Almighty God would keep us all
