PSC Releases List of 10,000 Successful Police Recruitment Candidates
The Police Service Commission (PSC) has published the names of 10,000 candidates who have successfully passed the recruitment process for constables and specialists in the Nigeria Police Force.
Announcing this on Tuesday, PSC spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani stated that the recruitment process was carried out with guidance from key stakeholders such as the Nigeria Police Force, the National Assembly, and the Federal Character Commission to ensure fairness and justice.
Out of the 10,000 successful candidates, 9,000 were selected for General Duty roles, while 1,000 were chosen for Specialist positions. Ani highlighted the PSC’s commitment to equity by ensuring candidates were selected from all 774 local government areas across the country.
The recruitment process began with an online application phase from October 15 to November 26, 2023, during which the PSC received 609,886 applications. Of these, 416,323 applicants met the advertised requirements and advanced to the second stage of physical and document screening conducted in January 2024.
Subsequently, 171,956 candidates who passed the initial screenings were shortlisted for Computer-Based Tests (CBT), which were overseen by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Following this, 15,447 General Duty applicants who excelled in the CBT were invited for medical screening, while 55,645 Specialist candidates underwent practical tests and medical evaluations.
The rigorous selection process concluded with the final recommendation of 10,000 candidates. The selection of Specialists was coordinated with the Nigeria Police Force to address specific needs and ensure balanced geographical representation.
Dr. Solomon Arase, PSC Chairman and retired Inspector General of Police, emphasized the thoroughness and integrity of the recruitment process. He expressed confidence in the new recruits, seeing them as the future of Nigeria’s security forces and underscoring the importance of starting their careers on a foundation of integrity and excellence.
The PSC has ensured that the release of the list of successful candidates complies with the Nigeria Data Protection Act of 2023, thereby safeguarding the personal data and privacy of the recruits.
Successful candidates can check their application status on the PSC’s dedicated webpage at http://www.policeservicecommission.cloud. For any inquiries or complaints, applicants can contact the PSC recruitment help desk via WhatsApp at 08094767777 and 09031318499.
