Pro-Fubara Lawmakers Set to Screen Commissioner Nominee Today

The political landscape in Rivers State is set for another significant event as the lawmakers aligned with Governor Sim Fubara prepare to screen Danagogo Iboroma as a commissioner nominee on Monday.

Under the leadership of Speaker Victor Oko-Jumbo, the faction of the Rivers State House of Assembly allied with Governor Fubara has summoned Iboroma to appear before them at 10:00 am on Monday.

In a letter signed by the factional Clerk, Dr. G.M. Gillis-West, Iboroma was directed to present himself at the Hallowed Chamber, Rivers State House of Assembly, Auditorium, Admin Block, Rivers State Government House in Port Harcourt. Alongside his appearance, he is instructed to bring ten sets of his CVs, photocopies, and originals of his credentials.

The political tension in Rivers escalated recently when lawmakers loyal to Governor Fubara elected Victor Oko-Jumbo as the Speaker of the State Assembly. In response, Oko-Jumbo invalidated all actions taken by the faction loyal to former Governor and current Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike. The pro-Wike faction, led by Martin, has faced challenges as Oko-Jumbo declared their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress, leading to the loss of their seats.
