President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Enugu State today for a one-day official visit to commission several landmark projects. Touching down at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport at approximately 1:25 PM, the President was warmly received, wearing traditional Igbo attire (Ishiagu) and a red cap.
The visit highlights key achievements by the state under Governor Peter Mbah, including the inauguration of the Enugu International Conference Centre. President Tinubu is also set to unveil 30 completed Smart Green Schools, part of an ongoing project to construct 260 such facilities across the state’s wards. Additionally, 60 fully equipped Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres, part of a larger initiative involving 260 centers, will also be commissioned.
The President will further launch the state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre alongside 150 patrol vehicles equipped with AI-enhanced surveillance cameras, a move aimed at bolstering security in the region.
Accompanying the President were the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and other senior government officials. A host of dignitaries welcomed him at the airport, including Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu, former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim, and Minister of Works Dave Umahi.
