Power Play: Kano APC Sacks Ward Leaders Behind Suspension of Ganduje

The Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the suspension of certain party leaders in Ganduje Ward of Dawakin Tofa LGA. This decision came swiftly after these leaders had earlier declared the suspension of the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, over bribery allegations leveled against him by the Kano State Government.

The saga unfolded at Ganduje Ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, where the APC leaders moved to suspend the party’s National Chairman. However, the party’s local leadership wasted no time in thwarting this move, promptly sacking those responsible for the suspension.

In a press briefing in Kano, the APC chairman in Dawakin Tofa LGA, Inusa Suleiman Dawanau, disclosed that the individuals behind the suspension of the APC National Chairman were found to be engaging in anti-party activities. He revealed evidence of their meetings with the ruling party in the state, leading to their dismissal.

In response to this internal strife, the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party not only sanctioned the Ganduje Ward party leaders for six months but also initiated a special investigation panel to probe various allegations against them.

Speaking on behalf of the Kano State APC, Chairman Abdullahi Abbas emphasized that the decisions taken at the local government level had been adopted by the state leadership. He affirmed ongoing investigations into the alleged anti-party activities of the individuals involved.

Moreover, the SWC unequivocally declared the suspension of the National Chairman by the Ganduje Ward party leaders as null and void, underscoring the intensifying power struggle within the state’s political landscape.
