Popular Pastor, Son Arrested in Connection with Murder of Kwara College Graduate
Prophet Adeniyi Adebayo, widely known as Prophet Ogunse, and his son, Promise Ogunse, have been arrested by the Nigeria Police in connection with the murder of a recent female graduate from the Kwara State College of Health Technology in Offa. The identity of the victim remains undisclosed at this time.
The arrest follows allegations that Promise Ogunse, the first son of the founder of The Light of God Miracle Embassy Church Worldwide, is the prime suspect in the case. Reports indicate that he allegedly invited the victim from Offa to a hotel in Ilorin last week, where the tragic incident occurred.
According to sources close to the investigation, the young woman’s lifeless body was discovered at a dumpsite, suspected to have been disposed of by hotel staff after the assailants fled the scene. The police quickly moved to detain both Promise and his father, who is a well-known pastor in the state. They are currently being held at the police headquarters in Ilorin.
When contacted, the spokesperson for the Kwara State Police Command, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, stated that she would provide more information soon. However, no further updates were available at the time of filing this report.
