‘Political Yahoo Yahoo’: APC Dismisses Endorsement of Soludo by Anambra Central Stakeholders

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra Central has strongly criticized the recent endorsement of Governor Chukwuma Soludo by a group of stakeholders from the zone, dismissing the move as deceptive and unrepresentative of the people’s true sentiments.

Speaking on behalf of the party, Igboeli Arinze, Zonal Publicity Secretary of the APC in Anambra Central, described the endorsement as a fraudulent political exercise, likening it to a “Yahoo Yahoo” scheme. Arinze questioned the basis of the support for Soludo, stating that the governor had not delivered any tangible benefits to the zone to merit such backing.

“What has Soludo done for Anambra Central to deserve this? His administration has been all about ‘sugar candy land’ projects—flashy on the surface but offering no real value to the average citizen,” Arinze said. He argued that no true son of the zone would endorse what he called four years of empty promises and failed governance.

He further stated that the governor’s failure to improve conditions in key communities such as Awka, Abagana, Neni, Ojoto, and Ogidi stands as evidence of his underperformance. He challenged the Soludo administration on its lack of progress in areas like human development, infrastructure, and security, asserting that residents of the zone have not felt any positive impact from the current government.

Arinze also dismissed the rally endorsing Soludo as a politically motivated event driven by fear of the growing popularity of the APC ticket, represented by Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu and Senator Uche Ekwunife. According to him, Soludo avoided listing concrete achievements during the event, instead focusing on themes like zoning and the phrase “four is better than eight,” which Arinze labeled irrelevant in the face of the state’s pressing challenges.

“At a time when our people are grappling with insecurity, unemployment, and crumbling infrastructure, the governor is talking about zoning and slogans,” he said. “But Anambra Central knows better. If giving Ukachukwu eight years means better roads, healthcare, security, and education, we would gladly make that trade.”

Arinze concluded by affirming that the APC is in tune with the desires of the people and would continue to hold the government accountable ahead of the upcoming election.
