Police Seal Building as Anambra Pledges Justice for Murdered Siblings

The Anambra State Police Command has sealed a residential building in Nnewichi, Nnewi North Local Government Area, where three siblings were brutally murdered. Their bodies were discovered in a deep freezer, sending shockwaves through the community.

The victims, a five-year-old boy and two girls aged seven and nine, were attacked in their apartment on Saturday by unidentified assailants. Reports indicate that the children were eating when the attackers stormed in, killed them, and placed their bodies in a refrigerator. Their mother and neighbors later found them after a desperate search.

On Wednesday, police officers secured the crime scene with tape, relocating the building’s occupants to prevent interference with the investigation. Anambra State Police Command spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the development, stating that no arrests had been made but that authorities were actively gathering intelligence. He assured the bereaved family that law enforcement was committed to uncovering the truth.

The children’s father, Udochukwu Ejezie, expressed his devastation, revealing that his only remaining child is a seminarian in Ukpor. The family is temporarily staying with relatives while investigations continue. He pleaded with authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice, emphasizing that they had no conflicts with anyone.

The Anambra State Government has vowed to track down those responsible for the heinous act. The Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, visited the crime scene and later addressed journalists at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, where the children’s bodies were deposited. She conveyed Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s commitment to ensuring justice, promising that the killers would face the full weight of the law.

Community members described the incident as horrifying, calling for divine comfort for the grieving family as the investigation continues.
