Police Arrest Three Suspects Found with Human Skull
Police in Imo State have arrested three suspects allegedly found with a human skull during a patrol along the Okigwe-Umuahia expressway.
In a statement on Wednesday, Henry Okoye, spokesperson for the state command, identified the suspects as Patrick Okoere, Ifeanyichukwu Anyaemeka, and Chukwuemeka Onyekachi. He said they were taken into custody and are currently under investigation.
According to Okoye, one of the suspects, Patrick Okoere, claimed that his uncle, Osunta Oko, had instructed him to acquire a human skull. He alleged that he found it along a riverbank near the expressway, a location where the police have recorded multiple cases of kidnappings.
The police command has launched a manhunt for Osunta Oko and any other individuals linked to the case. Meanwhile, authorities have initiated a DNA analysis to determine the identity of the skull’s owner.
Aboki Danjuma, the state commissioner of police, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to public safety and assured that justice would be served. He stated that the suspects would be prosecuted upon the conclusion of the investigation.
The police urged the public to remain vigilant and promised to provide further updates as the case develops.
