Police Officer Shoots Self Dead in Station
A police constable attached to Mada Station Division in Nasarawa State has reportedly taken his own life. The officer, identified as Dogara Akolo-Moses, was seen carrying out his duties in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area before the tragic incident occurred.
According to witnesses, Akolo-Moses entered a private room within the station and shot himself. The sound of the gunfire drew the attention of fellow officers on duty, who rushed to the scene, only to find him lying in a pool of blood with his weapon beside him.
A source at the station confirmed that colleagues outside the room heard the gunshot and immediately ran inside, where they discovered the lifeless body of the officer. The motive behind his actions remains unknown.
The Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident to journalists in Lafia. He stated that an investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances that led to the officer’s death.
