Police Foil Attempted Invasion of APC Chairman’s Residence in Kano

The Kano State police command successfully thwarted an attempted invasion of the residence of Abdullahi Abbas, the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The incident occurred on Friday evening.

Police spokesperson SP Abdullahi Kiyawa reported that the command received an urgent distress call around 6:00 p.m. from Chiranchi junction in the Gwale Local Government Area. According to Kiyawa, armed thugs were attempting to storm Abbas’s residence while pelting nearby residents with stones.

The divisional police officer of the Gwale Division led a rapid response team to the scene, effectively preventing the thugs from invading the residence and restoring order to the area.

While no arrests were made at the scene, investigations have identified the ringleaders as Abdul’Yassar Alias Jonny, Birbiri, and Jinjiri Aljan. Police efforts are ongoing to apprehend these suspects, with increased patrols in place to prevent further disturbances.

Kiyawa emphasized the police’s dedication to ensuring the safety and security of Kano State residents, reassuring the public that comprehensive security measures are in place. He urged citizens to provide credible information about suspicious activities to help maintain peace and security in the community.

“We are appealing to all law-abiding and peace-loving residents to volunteer timely and credible information on the movement of suspected characters in their midst for prompt security actions,” Kiyawa stated.

The police command remains committed to safeguarding lives and property, allowing residents to continue their daily activities without fear.
