Police Arrest Pastor for Alleged Rape of 20-Year-Old, Separate Murder Case in Imo

The Imo State Police Command has arrested Pastor Ikenna Emmanuel, 32, and an alleged accomplice, Franklin Chizoba, over the alleged rape of a 20-year-old woman in Orlu. According to police spokesperson DSP Henry Okoye, Emmanuel, who heads Authentic Power City Church in Umuobom, Ideato-South LGA, lured the victim to his home under the guise of offering prayers. Upon arrival, she was reportedly given a drink, after which she became dizzy, allowing the suspects to assault her. Both men were arrested by operatives from the Orlu Divisional Headquarters and allegedly confessed to the crime, as well as to engaging in homosexual acts. They have been charged to court and remanded at the Correctional Facility in Owerri pending trial.

In a separate case, the Orlu Police Division also arrested 39-year-old Ifeanyi Odinka from Amaifeke, Orlu, for allegedly stabbing his 75-year-old father, Denis Odinka, to death during a dispute over proceeds from a land sale. Police say the suspect confessed during interrogation and has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Owerri for further investigation and prosecution.
