Planned Marriage of TikTok Star Mai Wushirya and ‘Yar Guda Cancelled by Kano Hisbah
The Kano State Hisbah Board has announced the cancellation of the planned wedding between popular TikTok comedian Idris Mai Wushirya and Basira ‘Yar Guda following reports of disagreements between the pair.
Dr. Mujahedeen Aminuddeen Abubakar, the Deputy Commander-General of Hisbah in charge of Special Duties, confirmed the decision and explained that investigations revealed the couple had agreed to marry primarily to resolve a pending court case. He stated that the board decided to halt the arrangement to prevent future conflict and to ensure that any future union between them would be founded on genuine consent and mutual understanding.
The Hisbah Board became involved after social media controversies arose concerning the proposed wedding, with some users alleging that aspects of the plan were inconsistent with Islamic marital principles. Dr. Mujahedeen added that both individuals would be returned to court for the continuation of legal proceedings.
