“Peter Obi is the Only Saviour of Nigeria,” Labour Party Declares

The Ebonyi State Chapter of the Labour Party has confidently asserted that only its presidential candidate from the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, possesses the necessary solutions and competence to rejuvenate Nigeria’s struggling economy.

This proclamation was made during an expanded stakeholders meeting held in Abakaliki. The Labour Party urged Nigerians to align with their mission to seize power and elevate the nation to unprecedented heights.

The meeting culminated in a communiqué signed by prominent party members Linus Okorie (Ebonyi South Senatorial Zone), Dr. Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh (Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone), and Emmanuel Nwobo (Central Senatorial Zone).

“The National Transition Committee (NTC) members of the Labour Party, including Chief Fidelis Nwankwo, Rt. Hon. Linus Okorie, and Dr. Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh, convened this stakeholders briefing to inform the Ebonyi State Chapter about the future political activities of the Labour Party, which include mobilizing and registering new members,” the communiqué stated.

The NTC members also shared insights from the 2023 post-election reviews conducted by the national and state working committees, leading to several resolutions:

  • Affirmation that Peter Obi remains the National Leader of the Party, recognized for his capabilities to rescue the Nigerian economy from its current decline.
  • A call for support towards the National Transition Committee’s efforts to conduct inclusive state congresses and national conventions.
  • A plea for unity among party members, urging feuding factions to resolve their differences for the greater good of the Labour Party and Nigeria.
  • A vigorous campaign to recruit and register new members, with a target of 400,000 members for the Ebonyi State Chapter.

The communiqué also announced the unanimous adoption of Chief Fidelis Nwankwo as the leader of the Labour Party in Ebonyi State.
