PDP Has Been Destroyed Since 2014, a Threat to Opposition – Aisha Yesufu
Aisha Yesufu, a prominent activist, has criticized the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), labeling it a threat to the opposition. Yesufu stated that the party was effectively destroyed in 2014, following its treatment of Nigerians, which she described as “like lepers.”
In a post shared on X, Yesufu reflected on the party’s current state, stating that despite its once-unassailable position, the PDP had long since crumbled. “The same PDP we were attacked for is the PDP you now know is destroyed?” she questioned. “PDP was destroyed since 2014! They believed they were untouchable and treated Nigerians like lepers.”
Yesufu emphasized her point by asserting that “PDP is a threat to opposition,” underscoring her view of the party’s significant decline.
The PDP is currently embroiled in a leadership crisis over the National Chairman’s position. The party’s internal turmoil has been further fueled by accusations from Segun Sowunmi, a former spokesman for Atiku Abubakar. Sowunmi accused President Bola Tinubu of exacerbating the crisis by appointing Nyesom Wike as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory without consulting the PDP’s elders.
