Pastor Adeboye Alerts Public to AI-Generated Scam Videos Promoting Fake Drugs, Scholarships
Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God has raised concerns over fraudulent AI-generated videos being used to promote drugs and scholarships in an attempt to scam unsuspecting individuals.
In a statement shared on his official social media pages on Wednesday, Adeboye cautioned his followers and the general public against falling victim to these deceptive schemes. He clarified that he has no connection to any such promotions and condemned the use of artificial intelligence to spread misinformation.
“I have been made aware of disturbing AI-generated videos circulating online, falsely advertising certain drugs and scholarships that are intended to deceive and mislead people,” he stated. “These videos are NOT from me, and I want to make it clear that I have no involvement in such promotions.”
Adeboye further urged people to remain vigilant and avoid engaging with fraudulent content designed to exploit their trust. He identified specific social media accounts, including “Africa Health Centre” and “Church-Funded Scholarships,” as being responsible for the scam, adding that authorities are already taking action against them.
As a prominent religious leader in Nigeria and beyond, Adeboye also encouraged his followers to report these fraudulent accounts to help curb their activities.
