Again, How I Will Die — Pastor Adeboye Reveals

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has told congregants how he believes his death will occur. Speaking on Thursday night during the evening session of Day 4 of the church’s 73rd Annual Convention at the Old Auditorium in Redemption City, Kilometre 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Adeboye said he would pass away on a Sunday after attending church service. The convention, themed “The Overcomers,” began on Monday and has drawn millions of worshippers.

“It’s going to be on a Sunday. I would go to church for service, dance very well and return home. I will eat pounded yam, then I will go,” he said, urging worshippers not to ask how he knew the day of his transition. The revered cleric used the moment to teach that death does not have to be preceded by illness, linking his remarks to prayers for divine healing.

During the session, Adeboye also led prayers for prosperity, fruitfulness, long life, and victory over forces of darkness. Reading from 2 Corinthians 8:9, he stressed that prosperity is the portion of Christians and encouraged members to reject poverty, which he described as a tool of the devil to hinder the spread of the gospel. His message was delivered with his characteristic mix of scripture and personal insight, drawing fervent responses from the vast congregation.
