Ozigbo: Anambra Residents Are Tired of Waiting for Soludo’s Promised ‘Dubai, Taiwan’

Valentine Ozigbo, former Anambra governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, has expressed growing frustration from Anambra State residents over Governor Charles Soludo’s unfulfilled promises of transforming the state into a ‘Dubai’ or ‘Taiwan.’ Ozigbo contends that Soludo’s leadership has led to severe economic decline and worsening security conditions, leaving the populace struggling in poverty and living in fear.

In a post on his X handle on Saturday, Ozigbo criticized Soludo for allegedly pressuring the State House of Assembly to amend the Anambra Electoral Act. He claimed this amendment was intended to facilitate electoral manipulation and the imposition of Soludo’s loyalists in the upcoming elections.

Ozigbo stated, “Governor Soludo’s hasty actions to amend the Anambra Electoral Act are a blatant attempt to rig the election and install his supporters in key positions. While this move may be unlawful and ineffective, it is crucial that we do not boycott the election but rather demonstrate to Soludo that Anambra residents are tired of his empty promises of transforming the state.”

He further emphasized the dire state of security and economic instability in Anambra, highlighting that residents are now unable to visit their homes due to safety concerns. Ozigbo also urged his party to field candidates who possess the necessary skills and compassion to drive meaningful change at the grassroots level.

Ozigbo concluded by asserting that Soludo does not deserve another term in office and vowed to oppose any attempts by the governor to undermine democratic processes.
