Oyo LG Secretary Removed for Attending Hamzat’s Gubernatorial Declaration
Hon. Kolade Felix Ojo, Secretary of Saki West Local Government Area in Oyo State, has been relieved of his duties, Daily Post reports. The announcement was made on Tuesday.
Saki West, located in the Oke Ogun geopolitical zone, is one of the state’s key local government areas. Ojo also served as the Political Head of Asabari Local Council Development Area.
Sources indicate that the decision followed Ojo’s attendance at the gubernatorial declaration of Abdulrahman Oriyomi Hamzat, the Agidigbo 88.7 FM proprietor in Ibadan, who formally announced his intention to contest the 2023 Oyo State gubernatorial election on the Accord Party platform last Saturday.
The local government chairman, Hon. Gbenga Akinola, described Ojo’s dismissal as part of broader efforts to “reposition the Local Government for greater efficiency, accountability, and effective service delivery to the people of Saki West.”
In an official statement, Akinola confirmed that Ojo was asked to vacate his office with immediate effect.
