Osun Governor Adeleke Unveils N100 Billion Infrastructure Projects to Boost State Development

In a move aimed at transforming the infrastructure landscape of Osun State, Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke has unveiled a comprehensive N100 billion infrastructure development plan. The governor made this groundbreaking announcement at the Exco Lounge in the Governor’s office in Abere, Osun State.

One of the most notable aspects of this comprehensive infrastructure plan is the construction of five strategically placed flyovers. These flyovers are designed to alleviate traffic congestion and reduce accidents, with two in Osogbo, the state capital, and one each in Ikirun, Ife, and Owode-Ede.

Governor Adeleke has committed to completing all these projects within a 12-month timeframe and stressed the government’s adherence to all procurement laws and due processes. Importantly, the governor reassured that the entire infrastructure development plan is entirely state-sponsored, with no reliance on loans from financial institutions.

In addition to the flyover construction, the governor’s infrastructure agenda includes the rehabilitation of 345 health centers, the commencement of 332 borehole construction projects, and the rehabilitation of 45 roads, each at least one kilometer in length, spread across the state’s 30 local government areas, totaling 45 kilometers. Furthermore, road dualization projects in Osogbo, Ede, and Ilesha are also on the agenda.

Governor Adeleke took the opportunity to highlight the significant progress his administration has made in addressing the state’s infrastructure deficit over the past 11 months. He emphasized that this bold infrastructure development plan aims to boost confidence among investors and make Osun State an attractive destination for business.

By focusing on extensive infrastructure upgrades, Governor Adeleke is paving the way for effective public-private partnerships and demonstrating the state’s readiness to engage in business activities. Osun State is now positioned to harness opportunities for infra-financing and drive economic growth through this multi-billion Naira infrastructure development initiative.
