“Only Damagum Can Explain Why He’s Misleading the Party” – Ologbondiyan

Former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan, has said that only the party’s acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, can explain why he is allegedly misleading and mismanaging the party.

Speaking on AIT’s Focus Nigeria, Ologbondiyan expressed concern over Damagum’s leadership, accusing him of creating confusion and steering the PDP into further crisis. He emphasized that Damagum alone can clarify his actions and the rationale behind them.

“It’s only Damagum that will come to the public and say this is why I’m misleading the party, this is why I’m not managing the party well, this is why I’m creating confusion in the party,” Ologbondiyan said. “He is the only one that can come out to say what’s responsible for that.”

The former spokesman also criticized the internal dynamics within the party, noting that the National Secretary, Sam Anyanwu, is currently in court against the PDP. He questioned the legitimacy of decisions being made by what he described as a “committee of friends” led by Damagum.

Ologbondiyan reiterated his long-standing position that Damagum should step aside to allow the North Central zone to produce a substantive national chairman. He warned that under the current leadership, the PDP risks plunging deeper into internal strife.

“The feeling is that PDP will run from one crisis to another and as you can see, they have opened the floodgate of crisis for the party,” he added.
