Only Atiku Is the Visible Opposition to Tinubu in 2027 – Joe Igbokwe

A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has declared that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is the only visible opposition figure gearing up to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections. Igbokwe, a vocal supporter of President Tinubu, made the comment in a post shared on his official Facebook page on Tuesday.

“The only person that is challenging PBAT in the 2027 Elections is Atiku Abubakar but unfortunately his former Boss & former President Olusegun Obasanjo has crushed and nailed his reputation in his Book: *My Watch*. It is what it is,” Igbokwe wrote.

However, political observers argue that the APC chieftain may have downplayed other contenders with strong political relevance. Notably, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, who garnered over six million votes in the 2023 election, remains a key player with a growing national base. Igbokwe also made no mention of the Kwankwasiyya movement, led by former Kano governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, which maintains a solid following in the northern region.
