#OndoDecides2024: APC’s Lucky Aiyedatiwa Clinches Victory at Polling Unit

Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the Ondo state governorship election, has secured a win at his polling unit.

Aiyedatiwa, who is also the incumbent deputy governor, polled a total of 128 votes at polling unit 05, Ugbo ward 4, located in Obenla, Ilaje Local Government Area. His closest rival, Agboola Ajayi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, earned just three votes at the same unit.

In the lead-up to the election, Aiyedatiwa expressed confidence in his victory, citing his accomplishments in office and the extensive outreach he conducted across all 18 local government areas of the state. He encouraged residents to come out and vote without fear or favor, emphasizing his commitment to a transparent electoral process.

“If the outcome of the poll does not favor my party, as long as it is free from fraud, we will accept the result,” Aiyedatiwa stated earlier. He further added that any instances of malpractice would be contested through legal channels, stressing his readiness to respect the final verdict of the election.

The APC candidate also praised the security forces for ensuring a peaceful and orderly election process, noting that the exercise had proceeded without any major hitches.
