OndoDecides2024: APC Sweeps All LGAs, Poised for Victory
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged as the frontrunner in the Ondo State Governorship election, clinching victories in all 18 local government areas of the state. The election, conducted across 3,933 polling units, witnessed significant voter participation.
Earlier, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared APC as the winner in 15 local government areas but delayed results from the remaining three. With the latest announcement, APC has officially secured victories in all the local government areas.
Although the official declaration of the winner is pending, a tally of the results shows the APC candidate and incumbent Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, leading decisively with approximately 366,781 votes. His closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), garnered 117,895 votes.
INEC data indicates that 1.7 million Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) were collected, accounting for 85.6 percent of the 2.05 million registered voters in the state.
