Ondo Governorship Primary Election Declared Inconclusive by APC

The All Progressive Congress (APC) has declared its primary election in Ondo State inconclusive after receiving reports from 203 wards across the 18 Local Government Areas. This announcement came after logistical challenges delayed the process in certain areas, resulting in incomplete voting.

Usman Ododo, the Governor of Kogi State and Chairman of the Ondo State APC Governorship Primary Election Committee, issued a statement explaining that the exercise faced significant delays due to the late arrival of materials and personnel. This caused disruptions in the planned schedule, particularly affecting the 13 wards in Okitipupa Local Government Area.

As a result, the APC has rescheduled the primary election for these wards, with voting to take place from 12 noon on Sunday, April 21, 2024. The total number of validated registered members in these wards is 9,515. Once the voting is completed, the final collation of results will occur, and a winner will be announced shortly thereafter. The outcome will determine the APC candidate for the upcoming Ondo State Governorship election.

The APC is urging members and supporters to remain calm and patient as the party works to ensure a smooth and fair election process. Further updates will be provided as the results are finalized.
