“Omokri is Shameless” – El-Rufai Fires Back at Ex-Presidential Aide
Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has lambasted ex-presidential aide Reno Omokri, calling him “totally shameless” in a heated social media exchange.
The clash began after Omokri alleged that El-Rufai was a key figure in the genocide of Southern Kaduna Christians. Responding on X (formerly Twitter) to a post by Imran U. Wakili, El-Rufai dismissed Omokri and others as mere “PR consultants and online influencers” thriving under the current administration.
> “The only qualifications needed to be on the payroll are moral flexibility, total shamelessness, selective amnesia, wretched upbringing, and an intense craving for quick and easy money,” El-Rufai wrote via his verified handle, @elrufai.
Omokri, in turn, accused El-Rufai of paying off killer herdsmen, being complicit in the 2015 Zaria Shiite massacre, and using his position to demolish homes of political opponents in Kaduna. He also referenced past statements by El-Rufai that many considered anti-Christian, including his 2019 remark:
“Even if I bring the Pope, Christians will never vote for me.”
The war of words has sparked debate online, with supporters and critics of both men weighing in.
