‘Old Friends’ Reunited: Atiku, Tinubu Meet in Abuja
President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar momentarily set aside their political rivalry on Friday during an encounter at the National Mosque in Abuja.
The meeting occurred during the Jumat prayers and a wedding ceremony for the daughter of Senator Danjuma Goje. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Tinubu, took to social media platform X to share details of the encounter, referring to Atiku as Tinubu’s “old friend.”
Despite their longstanding political competition, the two leaders exchanged pleasantries, highlighting a rare moment of camaraderie.
However, it’s worth noting that Atiku has been vocal in his criticism of Tinubu’s administration, particularly regarding economic policies amid increasing hunger and hardship faced by many Nigerians.
