Ogun: Father, Son Arrested for Beating Neighbour to Death
In a tragic incident in the Ogijo Area of Ogun State, a man named Chizoke Obiadada and his son, Micheal Obiadada, have been apprehended by the police for their alleged involvement in the fatal beating of their neighbour’s wife, Tope Owoade.
The sad event happened when the deceased, Tope Owoade, reportedly confronted Chizoke Obiadada for sitting on a table used for selling cow skin, locally known as ‘ponmo’. This minor altercation escalated into a physical confrontation, during which both Chizoke Obiadada and his son, Micheal Obiadada, mercilessly assaulted Tope Owoade, causing severe injuries.
Tragically, Tope Owoade succumbed to her injuries later that same day, prompting her husband, Isiaka Owoade, to report the incident to the authorities.
Isiaka Owoade recounted to the police that upon his return from a journey, his wife informed him of the brutal assault she endured at the hands of their neighbours. She had been subjected to a barrage of blows, resulting in fatal injuries, including severe bleeding.
Despite efforts to seek medical attention at Main Frame Private Hospital and Kunle Hospital Atan Agowa, Tope Owoade was tragically turned away. She passed away en route to a government hospital.
The grieving husband’s report led to the prompt arrest of Chizoke Obiadada and Micheal Obiadada by the Ogijo Divisional police. The suspects have since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for thorough investigation.
