“Obi, Ajaero Planning to Overthrow Tinubu, Break Into Aso Rock” – Labour Party’s Arabambi
Abayomi Arabambi, factional National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party (LP), has accused former presidential candidate Peter Obi and Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President Joe Ajaero of plotting to overthrow President Bola Tinubu’s administration through unconstitutional means.
In an interview on Breakfast Central, aired by News Central TV, Arabambi alleged that Obi and Ajaero are planning to forcibly enter the National Assembly and Aso Rock under the guise of a one-million-man rally.
“Peter Obi and Joe Ajaero have been doing everything possible to make Nigeria ungovernable,” Arabambi said. “Their aim is to break into Aso Rock and the National Assembly to forcefully remove the president.”
He condemned the planned rally as a covert attempt to destabilize the country, claiming both men have their sights on the presidency without intending to go through democratic processes.
“This is not an election period. So why are they mobilizing a million people?” Arabambi asked. “It’s not a rally. It’s an attempted coup.”
Arabambi also criticized Obi’s political conduct, accusing him of consistently portraying Nigeria in a negative light since the 2023 elections and failing to act in a statesmanlike manner.
At the time of this report, Peter Obi and Joe Ajaero have not issued any public response to the allegations.
