Nyesom Wike Hosts Rivers APC, Vows to Rally Support for Bola Tinubu in 2027 Election

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has made a resolute commitment to mobilize electoral support for President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 election. In a meeting held in Abuja on Thursday, Wike conveyed this message while hosting leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Rivers State, led by the National Vice Chairman, South-South, Victor Giadom.

Wike’s unwavering support for President Tinubu was reaffirmed during the gathering. He expressed that his endorsement of Tinubu in the 2023 elections was motivated by a pursuit of equity and justice and emphasized that he had no regrets regarding this decision.

Inclusivity and Unity were recurring themes in Wike’s address. He declared, “I am not going to discriminate against anyone. I am here for Nigerians. I am here for those who are members of political parties and those who are not members of any political party.” He further stressed the importance of President Tinubu’s role as the leader of Nigeria, transcending party lines. He affirmed that while the President must consider the interests of his political party, governance should primarily benefit all Nigerians.

Wike praised Tinubu’s capabilities, asserting, “Looking at all the candidates from the South, I knew that nobody could defeat Asiwaju. The capacity and political will to take action; he has it.” He urged unity and collaboration among supporters of President Tinubu, emphasizing that the next election would be a show of their collective strength.

Victor Giadom, who led the Rivers APC delegation, commended Wike for his support and appealed to him to ensure the involvement of members of the Rivers APC in the journey ahead. Giadom said, “We urge you to continue to support and work towards the success of the administration and Nigeria. We have no doubt in your capacity to deliver on the mandate of your office and to protect Rivers interests as well as to promote national unity.”
