Nothing Should Happen to Dele Farotimi in Prison – Kenneth Okonkwo Warns
Kenneth Okonkwo, actor and politician, has raised concerns about the safety of human rights lawyer Dele Farotimi, who remains in prison custody over a defamation case involving legal icon Afe Babalola. In a statement posted on Instagram, Okonkwo issued a strong warning, insisting that Farotimi’s life must be protected while in detention.
“Nobody should come and tell us he had a cardiac arrest or something happened to him after a brief illness. Dele Farotimi was hale and hearty when he was unjustly arrested. He must be healthier whenever he comes out since the government that is holding him unjustly is wealthier than him,” Okonkwo stated.
He also suggested that the case could be resolved through alternative methods if Farotimi continues to resist alleged intimidation by “corrupt elites.” Okonkwo urged authorities to ensure Farotimi’s safety, noting that the global community is watching. Concluding his remarks with the hashtag #FreeDeleFarotimiNow, he emphasized that the legal process must proceed without interference.
