The National Organising Secretary (NOS) of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Umar M. Bature, has been described as the moulder of a projectional PDP and next generation leaders of our great party.
Eng. Adedeji Doherty, the immediate past State Chairman of Lagos PDP, gave the commendations in an emotion-ladden message to the NOS on the occasion of his birthday anniversary.
Doherty, who is also the Convener of Unity Freedom Group (UFG) in Lagos PDP, extolled Bature on his new age as he wished him many more blissful years in his life ahead.
Celebrating Bature as he turned a year older, Doherty, in a congratulatory message e-signed on his behalf by Mr. Muka Popoola, the head of DD Media Team, noted that the NOS occupies a significantly strategic position in the NWC where the conduct of his office directly impacts both the political aspirations of the PDP members and the fortunes of the party.
He said that Bature’s brief period as NOS has shown that we can develop the PDP of our dreams when we have people with good character and leadership qualities running the strategic components of our great party.
Doherty, a former gubernatorial aspirant in the Lagos PDP, noted that Bature assumed the office of the NOS when it had acquired the notorious image of a transactional conclave in Wadata House where members trooped from across the states to shop for party positions and electoral tickets while trampling on the party’s constitution. But through Bature’s integrous leadership style and sense of discipline, says Doherty, it could be said that the awful narratives of the Directorate that he superintends is changing for the better, while steadily rebuilding the confidence of members in the party.
The Lagos PDP frontline leader said the trajectory of Bature’s political sojourn as a grassroots player in Sokoto State politics, leading up to his current position in the National Working Committee (NWC) of our great party, was a manifest inspiration to all young politicians in PDP that the future ahead would be rewarding to them.
Doherty admonishes Bature to continue to work hard for the betterment of the PDP, realising that the greatest birthday wishes he could get from members while in office as NOS at such occasions as this is for them to be proud of him that his contributions inspire hope, especially for the younger generation that they will not be jettisoned if they remain loyal and dedicated to the party.
