Police men enforcing the 10pm Lagos State Covid19 Curfew in Ikeja have arrested some persons for flouting the laid down law.
The Policemen said the persons were found outside after the 10pm movement restriction time and were consequently all arrested and detained.
The men however stated that there was very huge traffic all over Lagos and consequently they could not beat the 10pm deadline.
They all further lamented the circumstances in which they were detained, stating that they were all being held in a crowded cell, as the mandatory social distancing rule was not observed.
They stated that if they are being arrested for Covid19 related offences, then all the necessary rules must be adhered to and this includes the social distancing rule.
They further alleged that the Policemen have been requesting for bribes as a condition for release.
