No Intention to Suspend Soludo, APGA Chair Njoku Reiterates
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has refuted any speculation about suspending Governor Charles Soludo from the party.
APGA’s National Chairman, Edozie Njoku, addressed the issue during a press conference in Lagos, clarifying that the party has no intention of suspending Soludo. Njoku emphasized that suspending the governor would only benefit rival political parties.
“The current peaceful disposition in APGA makes it unnecessary to suspend Governor Soludo,” Njoku stated. “Such a move would be advantageous for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and possibly the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). If we suspend Soludo today, who will benefit from that misadventure? It will be other parties.”
Njoku acknowledged that while every political party faces challenges, maintaining peace and reconciling differences is crucial. He pointed out that in Nigeria, economic hardships often lead to varying dissenting views within parties, which need to be acknowledged and respected.
Addressing the internal discussions within APGA, Njoku noted, “The National Working Committee (NWC) did receive suggestions to suspend Governor Soludo, but no consensus was reached. The matter was thoroughly discussed, and it became clear that suspending him was not a viable resolution.”
