Three Security Operatives Collapse at Soludo’s Second-Term Inauguration in Anambra
Three security operatives from different agencies collapsed on Tuesday during the inauguration of Chukwuma Soludo for a second term in office.
The incident occurred during a ceremonial parade at Dr Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
Those affected include a male police officer, a male operative of the Directorate of State Services (DSS), and a female officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
According to eyewitness accounts, the police officer was the first to collapse. He was later revived but remained unstable and was transported by ambulance to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital in Amaku, Awka.
The NSCDC officer reportedly collapsed toward the end of the event. She declined to be carried on a stretcher and was instead assisted into an ambulance.
The DSS operative also lost consciousness during the parade.
Sources at the venue attributed the incidents to fatigue and prolonged exposure to intense heat, as participants stood for extended periods under the sun.
