“No Bra, No Audition” – Ngozi Ezeonu Warns Aspiring Actresses

Veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Ezeonu has issued a stern warning to aspiring actresses about dressing modestly, particularly during auditions.

In a widely circulated video, Ezeonu was seen addressing two young women at an audition where she served as a judge. She questioned their choice of attire, specifically their decision to attend without wearing a bra.

The actress stressed that such dressing reinforces negative stereotypes about actors being “unserious” individuals. She made it clear that she would disqualify anyone who appears at an audition she oversees without proper attire.

“Any other day I am on any audition table, and anybody comes in dressed like this, I will disqualify that person. How can you come to an audition ground without a bra?” she said. “Who are you trying to impress? That is why people see us as people who are not serious. I am a serious-minded actor; you cannot catch me dressed like this.”

Ngozi Ezeonu began her career as a journalist before transitioning into acting. She is best known for her roles as a motherly figure in Nollywood films and has starred in over 150 movies, including Nneka The Pretty Serpent and Glamour Girls.
