“No Apology for Criticizing Tinubu’s Policies” — Governor Bala Mohammed
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has stated unequivocally that he will not apologize for his criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s policies, which he believes have caused significant hardship for Nigerians. During a State Executive Council meeting at the Government House in Bauchi, Governor Mohammed clarified that his remarks were not intended as insults but as a means to highlight and address the adverse effects of these policies on the populace.
Addressing his commissioners, the governor urged them to take concrete actions to ease the people’s suffering, emphasizing the importance of collective effort and transparent communication. He acknowledged the widespread inflation and unfavorable macroeconomic conditions, both globally and nationally, attributing some of the blame to the current administration’s policies.
Governor Mohammed stressed the responsibility of leaders at all levels to improve the delivery of social amenities, especially in rural areas. He encouraged his colleagues to utilize the state’s limited resources effectively and avoid shifting blame for unmet expectations. “We must manage the situation and make it better without blaming our predecessors,” he stated, underlining the necessity of connecting with the people and addressing local challenges.
The governor concluded by reaffirming his commitment to developing policies and programs that will enhance the well-being of the citizens, despite the scarcity of resources. He called on the state’s residents to support his administration’s efforts, highlighting their safety and welfare as his top priorities.
