Nigerian Woman Arrested in One of India’s Largest Drug Seizures

Bengaluru police have arrested Roseline Oluchi Ikeoha, a 40-year-old Nigerian woman, in connection with a significant drug trafficking operation. The Anti-Narcotics wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) recovered 12 kilograms of MDMA from her possession, marking one of the largest drug busts in the city’s history.

Police Commissioner B. Dayananda revealed that the seized narcotics, a potent synthetic drug, are valued at approximately ₹24 crore. Investigations suggest that Ikeoha had been using her grocery shop in the TC Palya area as a front for drug distribution over the last five years. Acting on credible intelligence, the CCB raided her premises, leading to the discovery of the drugs and 70 SIM cards, which point to a broader criminal network.

During interrogation, Ikeoha reportedly admitted to making illegal profits by selling drugs at inflated prices. She also provided leads about her suppliers and a potential connection to a Mumbai-based woman involved in the network. Authorities are now working to trace the origin of the drugs and identify those linked to the operation.

Ikeoha had entered India on a business visa five years ago but overstayed after her visa expired. She now faces charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the Foreigners Act. Further investigations are ongoing to uncover the full scope of the international drug trafficking network.
