Nigerian military forces have successfully neutralized Halilu Sububu, a notorious bandit leader who has terrorized Zamfara State for years. Sububu was killed during a military operation on Thursday night, according to reliable defence sources.
The operation, described as an “aggressive clearance,” resulted in the elimination of Sububu and several other bandits in the area. Troops also recovered firearms, ammunition, and motorcycles used by the terrorists, a military source confirmed
Halilu Sububu had been a major figure in the region’s insecurity, responsible for numerous attacks, including the killing of State Security Service (SSS) operatives two months ago. He was also linked to the abduction and murder of several civilians in Zamfara.
