Nigerian Government Organises Reception Ceremony For Arrival Of COVID-19 Vaccines
The Covid-19 presidential task force has organised a ceremony to receive vaccines from COVAX. Though is not clear what the ceremony will entail, analysts have described the idea as a total shame. They wonder why the government will waste time and money celebrating something they neither invented nor facilitated and urged the government to get on with the work of vaccinating Nigerians in a urgent and organised way.
Nigeria received 3.92 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine which arrived Abuja Airport earlier today on an Emirates flight at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja at about 11.25 am.
The delivery was received by top government officials and witnessed by journalists who had been keeping virgil at the airport.
The Presidential Taskforce on Control COVID-19 and a team of experts from the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) are expected to take delivery of the vaccines and accompany the consignnent to the National Strategic Cold Store located at the Jabi district of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
