Nigerian Government Clarifies Rumors of Foreign Military Base Plans

The Nigerian Federal Government has firmly denied rumors of plans to establish foreign military bases within the country.

According to a statement released by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, the government has labeled the allegations as false and urged the public to disregard them completely.

Minister Idris emphasized that there have been no discussions with any foreign nation regarding the establishment of military bases on Nigerian soil.

He further clarified that the government has not received any proposals from foreign entities regarding such matters.

Idris reiterated that Nigeria currently benefits from foreign cooperation in addressing security challenges, and President Bola Tinubu is dedicated to enhancing these partnerships to achieve the national security objectives outlined in the Renewed Hope Agenda.
