Nigerian Government Announces 2024 Nursing Examination Results with 88% Pass Rate
The Nigerian government has officially released the results of the 2024 Professional Examination for General and Post-Basic Nursing Programmes, with an impressive 88% pass rate. The announcement was made in a circular dated November 10, 2024, issued by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
A total of 18,139 candidates successfully passed the examination, representing 88% of the total candidates who participated. The results, categorized by different nursing programs, highlight the following breakdown:
General Nursing Programme: 12,534 candidates passed, achieving an 88% pass rate.
Refresher Program: 42 candidates passed, with a pass rate of 45%.
Foreign Trained Nursing (FTN): 178 candidates succeeded, marking a 43% pass rate.
Post Basic Nursing Programmes: 4,513 candidates passed, with a 96% pass rate.
Community Nursing Programme: 872 candidates passed, representing a 74% pass rate.
The statement also directed that heads of Nigeria’s nursing training institutions are required to access their institution’s results online starting Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
The announcement, signed by the Acting Registrar of NMCN, Ngadi Alhassan, came after approval from the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare.
