Nigeria vs Benin: Chukwueze, Moffi in Starting XI, Onuachu Dropped to Bench
Head coach Finidi George has revealed the starting lineup for the Super Eagles in tonight’s critical 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Cheetahs of Benin Republic.
The squad sees three changes from the team that played to a 1-1 draw with South Africa’s Bafana Bafana last Friday.
Stanley Nwabali, who impressed in the previous match, retains his position in goal. Defenders Bright Osayi-Samuel, Semi Ajayi, Benjamin Tanimu, and Calvin Bassey will form the backline.
In midfield, captain Wilfred Ndidi is joined by Bright Onyedika and Alex Iwobi. Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, who scored on his competitive debut against South Africa, will start on the bench.
In attack, Terem Moffi from OGC Nice will lead the line, replacing Paul Onuachu. Samuel Chukwueze will come in for Kelechi Iheanacho, with Ademola Lookman positioned on the left wing.
